I graduated from Santa Clara University in 2011 with a Masters in Counseling Psychology.  As a post-graduate intern, I worked on the Peninsula in two non-profit agencies providing therapy to individuals, couples, groups, and families.  As an LMFT I had to complete 3000 hours to become licensed.  It was a labor of love and you will see the results.  I am interested in mindfulness, and stress reduction.  I have had a meditation practice for twenty years which helps reduce anxiety and increase your joy.  You can learn to be in the moment with your feelings and not run away from them or push them down.  By sitting with those feelings, you can decrease suffering.  As an educator and now as a therapist I bring you a vast range of experience.  I will work beside you to help you heal.  I will not give you frequent advice or tell you what to do.  You live your own life and I want to support you in doing so.

I have been a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists since 2011 and a member my local Santa Clara Valley chapter since 2012.  Additionally, I was an adjunct faculty member at Santa Clara University leading graduate students through a group therapy experience.  Groups are a passion of mine.  Groups help us heal in interpersonal relationships.  To increase my training in this area I joined NCGPS (Northern California Group Psychotherapy Society) in 2015.  And since 2017 I have been an AGPA (American Group Psychotherapy Association) member and attended the national conference two years in a row.  AGPA serves as the voice of group therapy for mental health clinicians and the public-at-large, both nationally and internationally.  Lastly, I am in a two-year training program called "Person-Centered Expressive Arts".  Combining movement, sound, and art into my practice has been a long-term dream.  Please sign up for my mailing list if you are interested in expressive arts workshops or groups.

A bit more...

I grew up in the south and attended college there.  I received a degree in Theatre Arts and I minored in Education.  After graduation I taught theatre in four of the five boroughs in New York City and did some acting along the way.  I also taught preschool and pursued a Masters in Early Childhood Education.  After years of parent meetings that seemed a lot like therapy, I realized psychology was the career I had been seeking all those years.  I love the work I get to be a part of as a therapist.  When you work with me you get the benefit of my diverse professional experience which began over twenty years ago.
